(Received 2 p.m.) . LONDON, January;3o. In the course of his speech' at the Kroli Opera House, Berlin, Herr Hitler proceeded to describe his struggle for the right of self-determination, resulting in the unification of Ostmark (Austria) with the Reich, arid said: “Our confidence in the new German army’s speed and efficiency to strike was not disappointed, but even excelled. Germany Not a Blackmailer. “It is a gross distortion of facts it the rest of the world draws the conclusion from these events that Germany has threatened other nations through blackmail. We have not !- threatened anyone; we have only defended ourselves against an attempt by a third party to interfere. “I need not say we will not tolerate in the future any attempt by western Powers to interfere in concerning us solely for the purpose of preventing reasonable solutions.*’ Referring to the Munich agreements, he alluded to “the. Germany Has Won. “Speeches and newspapers abroad predict our death from financial trouble, and from the strain of a credit crisis. Others predict a. crisis in production and consumption. “These things only prove the sincere desire of democratic, nations to smash Nazi Germany. “It is true that we are engaged in a 1 tremendous struggle. With our; whole strength we shall win—indeed; we have won already (Cheers). / . “Our economic troubles are due to over-population. “We have been exploited and ;plundered for 15 years. Yet, without aid from colonies, but with help from abroad, we have saved ourselves. “Which of these westerners and European ‘governesses could have' achieved that?”
