COUNTER LUNCHES
[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. Hotelkeepers in Auckland are sceptical as to the result of the decision reached by the Canterbury Licensed Victuallers’ Association to reduce drastically counter lunches. Past history has shown, them that nothing short of revolution will eliminate the counter lunch. . Some of the older hotelkeepers can cast their minds back over 30 years, and remember that a move was being made even then to do the same thing. A few years back they did decide to cut out the bar lunch, but’the de-, cision broke down. ’ Many, of those interviewed In the city this morning were of the opinion that the Christchurch action would have no effect on Auckland.
