Wise Manuring Solution To Eczema Problem
-SAYS MR. CANDY A recurrence of the facial eczema outbreak is unlikely this season, according to Mr R. A. Candy, a director of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Company, now visiting Northland. “This season has been exactly the opposite to last,” h esaid. “With 17 years’ experience in the Waikato, I cannot remember a season of such extreme humidity as last year. There were two dry spells with rain following which caused a flush of feed in each case. On my own property, which contains a fair amount of light country, I saw cattle refusing to eat the abundant feed whilst readily accepting hay. “It is now generally accepted that the eczema is of dietic origin. I consider the matter is largely a question of soil impoverishment and may be overcome by wise manuring.”
