The opening Supreme Court criminal session of the year, which starts on Wednesday, promises to bo a long one. Not yet quite completed, the calendar contains 28 criminal trials, 20 civil cases to be heard before juries, and about 60 divorce petitions. The comparatively rare offence of arson is alleged against, an accused person from Whangarei. There is only one charge on the list of breaking and entering.
