Westfield Beef Market Over-Supplied
[Special to “Northern AdvoL:ite , 'l AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Ewes improved after a sudden slump last week, wethers being quoted steadily as were lambs. Calif prices followed the downward trend begun in the beef sale and only quality beasts were firm. Eaconers were quoted unchanged in the pig sale, but average rates for porkers were slightly less. Among the individual consignments a line of steers from Hargreaves Bros., Kaiwaka, and Dingle and Son, Waiotira, sold to £l2 10/ and £l2 5/.

Sheep.—Extra heavy prime wethers, £1 1/6 to £1 2/; heavy, £1 to £1 1/; medium, 18/6 to 19/6; light and unfinished, 16/ to 18/; heavy prime ewes, 12/6 to 13/; lighter, 10/6 to 12/; other ewes, 6/ to 9/; heavy prime lambs, £1 2/ to £1 3/3; medium, £1 to £1 1/6; lighter, 18/ to 19/6; light, 14/ to 17/.
Calves: Runners, £5 1/ to £9 1/; heavy vealers, £4 15/ to £7 17/; medium. £3 10/ to £4 6/; light, £2 12/ to £36/; smaller, £1 15/ to £2 9/; small, £ls/ to £1 12/; unfinished and bucket fed, 18/ to £1 5/; bobby calves, 3/ to 12/.
