N.Z. Not Consulted Re Trade War On Japan

“I have heard nothing about it—nothing official, .and I do not expect to.” said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage yesterday, when he was asked to comment on the Australian Press Association report from London that several countries would probably declare ,an economic war on Japan. The published report was the first that he had learned of the matter, Mr Savage added. When it was pointed out that the report said the Dominions had been consulted. Mr Savage said the New Zealand had not been approached by any other Government.
