Davis, of the Canadian Supreme Court, reported to the House of Commons to-day that there was no evidence of corruption in con- , nection with the Bren Gun contract placed by the Canadian and British Governments Jointly with Johh Inglis and Company. Colonel George Drew, the Ontario Conservative leader, in a magazine article, charged.that the contracts had Hahn, through the connivance ,of Mr Hugh Plaxton, a Toronto member of the House of Commons, with the Defence Minister' Mr lan . Mackenzie, the , Deputy-Minister, General J. E. la Pleche, and other departmental officials, and that Canada stood to lose heavily by the contract. The Government ordered an immediate inquiry.
