Local Physical Fitness Campaigns
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] WELLINGTON, This Day. The intentions of the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation in connection with the physical fitness campaign to be held throughout New Zealand from February 18 to February 25, were explained by Mr. J. W. Heenan, Undersecretary for Internal Affairs, who is also deputy-chairman of the council. No great expenditure need be involved, he said, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. desired that any profits made should be kept as funds of the district committee under the Physical Welfare and Recreations Act. The celebrations would be in the hands of the various centres, and what form they would take would be a matter for the discretion of the committee for the district.
