Milling Of N.Z. Larch Forests To Begin

The marketing of timber from the larch plantations at Hanmef Springs, Conical Hills (Otago), and Rotorua, is to begin this year, according to Mr C. Biggs, conservator of State forests in Canterbury. The trees are not of millable size, according to New Zealand standards, but the larger ones are considered suitable for telegraph, poles and light power poles, and the smaller ones for trellis and rustic work fences and log cabins.
