Power And Telegraph Polesi. The main source of the supply of power and telegraph poles up to the present has been Australian hardwood. Australia actually finds it difficult to supply the New Zealand demand, and orders are now behind, according to Mr Biggs. Although larch does not compare with Australian hardwoods for durability, it makes an effective substitute for lighter poles when treated with creosote.
