Young Farmers’ Club Meets
A meeting of the Young Farmers’ Club District Committee was held at Umawera on Wednesday. Delegates from Kaeo, Broadwood, Oruru, Umawe'ra and Kaitaia were present, as were also Mr Jones, president of the Bay of Islands Provincial Farmers’ Union, Mr Glanville, Department of Agriculture, Whangarei, Mr E. Moss, Department of Agriculture, Kaitaia, and Mr W. A. Beattie, Supervisor of Pig Council, Whangarei, Mr E. W. Hansen, chairman of the district committee, presided. The usual business was dealt with, including the proposed visit of the Baj r of Plenty young farmers to Northland, and a return tour to the Bay of Plenty of the young farmers from Kaitaia, Dargaville and Whangarei. Members intending to make the tour are requested to communicate “With their club secretaries as soon as possible. The tour commences in June. Mr Moss presented a shield for debating between clubs, the winners and runners-up to give a radio' talk over IYA. Members expressed regret at MiMoss’s resignation. He will be leaving for Australia in the near future. A full programme of work was drawn up with satisfaction to the delegates. The next quarterly meeting of the committee is to be held at Broadwood at the end of March.
