A Dean’s Romance
(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 9. The Dean of Canterbury, Dr. Hfewlett Johnson, aged 64. whose first wife (died 1931) was described as the finest looking woman in Manchester, has become engaged to Miss Mary Edwards. aged 31, an artist who has exhibited at the Royal Academy. The wedding will take place in the autumn. Meanwhile, Miss Edwards, who Iras long been connected with the deanery, where she has acted as hostess, is accompanying the Dean to Spain with the food ship committee, which cai’es for orphaned children in Barcelona.
