r Per Press Association. Copynght.] WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand billiards champion and holder of the Wellington title. S. L. Moses, was defeated last night in the final of the Wellington amateur championships by 500 points to 270 by C. E. Peek, champion in 1935 and 1936. Moses had a poor rim and never settled down. His best breaks were 37, 28, 27, and 26. Peek early established a commanding lead, and the further the game went the further he went ahead. He made 11 breaks of over 20. the best being 41, 30, 28 (.2) and 25 (2). His average for the session was 10.
