WEDDINGS
A picturesque wedding 1 took place in the Anglican church. Mangapai, on Wednesday. July 1J when Beryl, second daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Parnell, was married to Ronald, oldest son of Mr Alfred and the late Mrs Webb. The Rev. M. L. A. Bull, of Paparoa, was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church on her father's arm. was charmingly gowned in blush pink satin beaute, with a dainty pink veil to tone. She carried an exquisite bouquet of pink sweet peas, rosebuds and heather. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Fay Parnell, the bride’s sister, who wore a frock of pale green satin beaute and carried a bouquet of golden yellow jonquils and heather. Miss Hilda Webb, sister or the bridegroom. was also in attendance, and was trucked in pale gold satin beaute. She also carried a golden bouquet. Both bridesmaids wore silver coronets with flowers intertwined on their heads. The bridegroom was attended by hfs brother, Mr Cecil Webb, while Mr Bryan Parnell, the bride's brother, acted as groomsman. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the long table being tastefully decorated, with pale pink and cream as the predominating colours. A beautiful wedding bell was suspended above the bridal pair at the table, and trails of smflax added a dainty touch to the scheme. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs Parnell, the latter wearing a model frock of rush crepe faille, worn with a brown velour hat and handsome fur. A bouquet to tone completed her toilette. Mrs Webb was attired in a fawn tweed ensemble, and carried a coral pink posy of flowers.
