F Special to “Northern Advocate.’’] AUCKLAND, This Day. Active business has been maintained on the Stock Exchange since the dull period ended yesterday. This morning 'another big list of sales was recorded at the call. The recovery in Australian industrials was led by Broken Hill Pty., which sold at a rise 1/. Australian Glass improved on yesterday’s 'advance, closing between £4 15/9 and £4 17/3, and G. J. Coles, ‘ Electi'olytic Zincs and Mt. Lyells all shared in the general improvement. Further easing in Dominion Breweries was reflected in a Sale at £1 14/9, but Westport Stockton Coals were stronger with buyers at 4/2, and no sellers in sight. Most other local industrials were steady. Bank shares showed no appreciable change, though buyers of Nationals dropped out, sellers asking £2 14/3. Slight improvement in National Insurances brought sales at one penny rise. Government stocks lacked buying support, offers for 4 per cent. 43-49’s being reduced to £lOl 12/6, with sellers 7/6 higher; while 46-49’s had unsupported sellers at £lO2.
