Open-Town Bombing Deplored
-BY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PARIS, July 25. An international conference on the bombing of open towns, which was attended by 850 delegates from 30 countries, including Britain, deplored the world-wide disrespect for treaties and disinclination to limit armaments or support collective security. The conference urged the observance of the League Covenant, and asked that President Roosevelt and the United States Cabinet should take the initiative. An unhindered supply of antiaircraft armament and financial aid was demanded for countries which were the victims of aggression, and the conference also advocated an embargo on the supply of petroleum and metals to aggressor nations.
