Young Girl Killed

A fatality occurred on the MastertonCarterlon road cn Saturday night, when Veronica Ireland, aged H, daughter of Mr Robert Ireland, of Pembroke Street, Carterton, was struck by a motor car while walking along the side of the road. The girl was accompanied by a coussn, and t hey were overtaken by a car travelling in the same direction, driven by Mr Douglas Walter Page, of Pahiatua. The back of the car hit Miss Ireland, fracturing her neck.
