Week-end Motoring Fatalities

Becoming out of control on the road about ton miles past To Puke, on the Whakatano main highway yesterday morning, u car .somersaulted tomtimes before coming to rest r.n its hood. The killed and injured were:— Killed. Mrs Gladys Greenwood, aged 43, wife of Mr Ezra Greenwood, dairy farmer, of Frankton Road. Waihi. Injured. Mr Aubrey Greenwood, aged 21, sen of Mr and Mrs Greenwood; injuries to the head and legs. Mr Leonard Berryman, aged about 21, of Waihi; minor facial injuries. Miss Murial Marwood. of Huntly; escaped injury. The car, which was driven by Mr Aubrey Greenwood, became out of control when returning to the road after travelling a short distance on the pumice surface at the left of the bitumen. The car somersaulted four times within a distance of 20 yards, coming to rest upside down on the road.
