Marohemo
The July meeting of the Marohemo branch was members’ day, each member having to contribute an item towards the programme. Names were put in a hat and two were picked out for president and secretary. Miss Cawte was drawn as president and Miss Petrie secretary. The roll call was “suggestions for pragrammes.” Some were lectures, musical items, talks, round games, play-reading and more demonstrations. A competition for scones was won by Mrs G. Jackman, with Mrs Trewin second. Two interesting readings were given by Mrs Petrie and Miss Fergus. Games were also enjoyed and the meeting closed with the National Anthem.
