The statement is balanced at £26,010.259. or £10,989 less than at the close of the previous week. Deposits again show evidence of .Pnsiderablo movement. Those of tiro State av - : £500,513 lower than the week ~eforc. while the holdings of the trading banks have increased by £463,975. The note issue lias decreased by £48,750. An item rarely seen in the return reappears this week —liabilities in currencies other than New Zealand currency, the amount being £BOBS. The sterling exchange reserve is again lower in value, the fall amounting to £278,889. Advances to the Primary Produce Marketing Department are £283,439 higher, while other assets have fallen by £ 13,537-
