Drove Without Due Care

j A fine of £1 with 10 - costs was j inflicted by Mr G. N. Morris. S.M.. in i the Magistrate's Court yesterday on j Frederick David Hill, who pleaded | not guilty to a charge of negligent j driving. The charge was later amend- | cd to read: “'Driving Without duo conj sidcration to other users of Iho road." j Mr D. L. Rnss appeared for the dej fence. 1 Constables C. Snow and I. R. Wili con stated that they were in Constable j Snow's car near Oaklpigh on the I night c-f June 6. when they were passjed on Dwyer's Hill by another car. ; A third car passed between them by I only a small margin. The constables j had pursued the other car for a mile or two. but had not caught up with it. ; Defendant declared that ho had no | recollection of the incident, either ■ when interviewed by the constables a j few days later or when in court. j Charles Cummings, barman, said he I had been in the back scat of defen- ' danfs car and had net noticed the ] incident which had resulted in the ■ charge being brought. A tine of VI with 10 - costs was j inlbcled and the charge' was amended i stated.
