Orphanage Ball Tomorrow
Tomorrow evening Whangarei will have another opportunity to assist the campaign at present being conducted In Northland to raise funds lor the building of an orphanage at Tikipunga. This Vs provided by the huge benefit ball arranged in the Town Hall for 8 p.m. tomorrow. Organised by the Bargain Stores Social Club, this bids fair to be one of the biggest social events of the present season. The Mayer will be in attendance, and many Whangarei businessmen have lent material aid. Women's Institutes have given practical support by assisting with the supper arrangements. A full programme of dancing, including many novelties, is supplemented by between-dance attractions which include numbers by the Whangaruru Entertainers, a well-trained party of Maori harmonisers. Pop Eye,and his Ranch Boys will also add to the gaiety of the evening, and Whangarei's Larry Adler will make melody on his mouthorgan. All proceeds from the ball go to the building fund of Tikipunga Orphanage—designed to be the home of Northland’s homeless children.
