Preparing For Bay Power

A meeting oi‘ the Bay o £ Islands Power Board held at Kaitaia on Saturday was presided over by the chairman. Mr A. E. Bissol. The Local Government Loans Board wrote cementing to the raising of a loan by way of overdraft of £4575 as at March 31 next, the amount to cover £4OOO applied for, together with the amount of the previous overdraft. A motion was passed that the P.W.D. be asked to put in hand as early as possible the construction of the power line from Maungatapere to Pamapuria. Mr Mandeno said_ the department would make no difficulty about starting, but would want the agreement with the board finalised first. The engineer' was authorised to have a draft of an agreement with the Public Works Department for the supply of power prepared, the agreement to embody the proposals agreed to at the last meeting in respect to the points of supply, etc. Monthly Meetings. Regular meetings of the board were fixed for the fourth Friday in each month. Mr Ellery was authorised to obtain details and options over properties at Kaikohe for offices, depot and a residential site. Messrs Thompsoh, Peace and Bradley were appointed a committee to go into the question of by-laws and report at next meeting.
