Japan Can’t Afford Games
(Received 8.30 a.m.) TOKIO, July 15. The Cabinet has approved of the decision not to hold the Olympic Games at the International Exhibition, A spokesman says that the decision is a demonstration of Japan’s determination to pursue her aims in China. Hostilities may continue for two years. Consequently, she is preparing for any emergency. The spokesman hinted that Japan would not be permitted to compete- at the Games; for which a , purely national meeting at Toki’o would be substituted.
