Britain’s Biggest Order Of Aircraft
(Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. The Air Ministry has placed the largest contract for aeroplanes ever given to a British firm, and believed to include 200 high-speed training aeroplanes with Phillips and Powis Aircraft Limited, and has also ordered a large number of Airspeed Oxford monoplanes from Airspeed Ltd. The De Havilland and Percival Aircraft Co’s orders exceed several fold those placed in the United States. The aircraft will be used for training, and the orders wil be completed in two years.
