Shrouded in such secrecy that only a few chosen officers of the United States Army Corps are permitted knowledge of its construction details, the Douglas Plant is building the biggest aeroplane in the history of aviation, says the Los Angeles con’espondent of the “New York HeraldTribune.” Dwarfing even Pan-American Airways’ 40-ton Boeing Clipper, the new machine is intended as an army bomber, but a commercial 'version has boon designed. It will not be capable of flying the Atlantic. Its weight is reported to be over 71 tons and its speed will be over 200 miles per hour.
