Council’s Gratitude To Arts Society
On the motion of Cr. A. T. Brainsby, the Whangarei Borough Council last night passed a motion of appreciation to the Auckland Society of Arts and the various collectors who had made available the collection of pictures shown at the Art Exhibition held in Whangarei last week. Thanks were also expressed for the visit of the president of the society. Mr R. O. Grose, and Mr A. C. Hipwell, the lecturer, for his informative and inspiring addresses. The fact that 2900 people had attended the exhibition was very gratifying to the council, which placed on record its obligation to the Society of Arts and its sincere thanks. The motion was ■ carried unanimously.
