FREEZING AWARD. A new award to cover freezing workers in all districts with the exception of Westland will be announced by the Second Arbitration Court tomorrow. when the award will be filed in Wellington.
MR PARR 1 FOR AUSTRALIA. The Prime Ministex’, the Rt. Hon, M. J. Savage, announced that the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W, E. Parry, will represent the Dominion at the Australian Sesquicentennial Celebrations. Mr Parry will also inquire into pensions and other matters while in Australia. NO EXPLANATION YET. Efforts are still being made by interested parties to determine the cause cf the violent explosion that took place at the corner of Remuera Road and Victoria Avenue at 7.30 on Sunday morning and wrecked the premises of Mr R. C. Wylie, chemist, and caused damage to several adjoining shops.

DEATH OF MRS NATHAN. Advice has been received in Auckland of the death in England yesterday of Mrs Letitia Nathan, widow of the late L, D. Nathan, a former prominent Auckland businessman. Mrs Nathan, who died in her 87th year, had been living in Durfold, Reigate. She had been away from New Zealand for several years.
