Gerlach-Solomon
The oldest church in New Zealand was the scene last Saturday evening of the marriage between Miss Myrtle Gerlach, of Paroa Bay, Russell, and Mr Charles Solomon, of Taumarunui. The Rev. H. Heaslip, of Hikurangi, officiated at the ceremony. The bride was dressed in white lace over satin, and wore a veil, whilst her bouquet consisted of St. Joseph lilies. Daphne Gerlach, causin of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. She wore apricot organdie, and her bouquet was of matching flowers. The bride’s mother, Mrs Gerlach, wore a spun crepe de chine ensemble in black and white, and carried a bouquet of cream ranunculus. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Solomon wore a marocain nigger brown ensemble, and carried a bouquet of red carnations. Mr Solomon was attended by Mr W. Rivers as best man. The organist was Mrs Teixiera. A reception was held afterwards at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion, following which a well-attended dance was held in Brooker’s Hall.
