of parchment lace’, cut on long lines, with insets of parchment georgette forming a train. The long sleeves full to the elbow, also had insets of georgette. The embroidered tulle veil was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossoms. The shower bouquet of dahlias, argentine pea and maidenhair fern toned with the frock. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Ellet and Miss Alice Sutherland, the bride’s sister. They were dressed alike in honey gold chiffon, cut on Grecian lines, with rucked bodices and short puff sleeves. They wore head dresses of gold plated tissue and carried shower bouquets of cream and orange dahlias, rose buds and gladioli. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Sutherland as best man and Mr H. Upton as groomsman. Following the ceremony there was a dance in the Garrison Hall, when about 300 were entertained. The bride’s mother received the guests wearing a frock of black georgette and lace and carrying a posy of cream and gold flowers. The bridegroom’s sister wore a pink floral georgette frock and carried a posy of dahlias and gladioli to tone. The bride travelled in a navy satin frock and navy straw hat.
