: The dance held last week in aid of : the Tennis Club, proved quite successful. A good crowd turned up and a jolly evening was spent. Mr L. Scott was ivi.C. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Powell and partner, while ■the lucky number dance was won by Mrs L. Scott and partner. Cards. ! There was the usual attendance at ' the 500 evening, held in the school last .Tuesday. The winner of the ladies’ prize was Mrs C. Whimp. and the men's, Mr C. Gemmell. Personal. 1 Mr Allan Larcombe. of Hamilton, is now home with his parents, Mr and • Mrs Larcombe. : Constable R. Beasley, with his wife ;and family, and Mr G. Carter, returned j last week to their homes at Opotiki, •after a very enjoyable three weeks’ ! holiday in the district as the guests of j Mr Beasley’s mother. Mrs T. Beasley. ! Miss Marjorie Pye. of Auckland, returned last week to her home, after | an enjoyable fortnight spent with- Miss |A. Pollock. j Mrs Forman, of Dargaville. is the ! guest of Mr and Mrs R. Going. | Institute Dance. I On Saturday evening, a very success- ! ful dance was held by the Institute group, including Parua Bay, Onerahi, and Taurikura Bay. A very large crowd rolled up, and a delightful evening followed. Mrs Hodgson carried out the duties of M.C. The lucky number in the hat waltz was won by Miss | Thelma Bishell. A Monte Carlo Was j won by Miss M. Mason and-' Mr Mudgjway. Mrs Mcßae won the attractive j tea-cosy made by Mrs Cartwright. Mrs |J. Ross made a cake, which was won jby Mrs A. Robinson. The proceeds of the dance are to be sent to the Federation funds.
