HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS
GIRLS' DRILL AND TENNIS
The annual girls’ drill competitions bf the Whangarei High School were held on the school courts yesterday morning. Over 20 competed in the senior event and 30 in the junior, and some very 'close competition was seen. Mrs Don McKay, of Waipu, judged the contests. Results: Senior Championship. Pauline Jackman 1, Nancy Weston 2. Junior Championship.—Betty Bar'ber 1, Betty Inkster 2. The girls’ tennis championship was played yesterday and resulted in a | win for Marjorie Smith, who defeated Peggy Alison, B—6, 6—4, after a very even contest.
