Radio Favourites for Whangarei. It is not often that provincial the-atre-goers and radio enthusiasts have the opportunity of meeting their favourite artists face to face in -a rollicking “get together” evening, like that which is promised at the Town Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15th and 16th, for two nights only, when Senia Chostiakoff, the brilliant Russian tenor, and Vincent Ryan, that inimitable community singing leader and radio comedian, will appear in person in a rollicking “get together” community night; of the latter artist it can truthfully be said, that he has no peer in Australasia in his particular sphere. “Listeners” who have tuned in to community singing, have heard peals of laughter during the time Mr Ryan has been on, and have wondered what was the reason, at the same time realising that incidents occur to the eye on stage that are impossible to broadcast; these will all be incorporated in the programme next Tuesday and Wednesday night. “Book before you sleep” at Haslett’s, where 3/- and 2/- seats may be reserved. 275
