FLOWER SHOW,

Under the auspices of the Broadwood Methodist Guild the flower show was held in the A* and P. Hall on Saturday, December 5. Mrs Kirkpatrick and Mrs Potter, of Kohukohu, were the judges. Following are prize-win-ners: —

METHODIST BAZAAR & CONCERT

The Methodist Church, Broadwbod, held a bazaar and concert in the A. and P. hall on December 5 in conjunction with the flower show. Bran tubs for the children, sweet and cake stall, fancy stall and teas all added to the attractiveness of the l/azaar. In the needlework section, points were awarded as follows:

A delightful concert arranged by Miss V. Newman was held in the evening.

The nail-driving competition was won by (ladies), Mrs J. Grounds(men) Mr B. Hick. The cake was won by Mr J. Craig, the weight being 71bs TJoz, and guessing 71b 7oz as weight TENNIS.

A very enjoyable club day was spent on December 6. on the Broadwood tennis courts. A yankec tournament arranged by the president, Mr F. Downey, and the secretary, Mr G. Russell, was played. The winners were Mrs F. Holland and Mr F. Dodds. Following are the points:—Mrs F. Holland

A cricket match was played on the A. and P. grounds, Broadwood, on December 6, between Broadwood and Kohukohu. Kohukohu was 156 and Broadwood. 100. Lunch and afternoon tea were served in the pavilion. personal. On December 6. Mr W. Winter and Mrs S. Hansen journeyed to Kaitaia to play in the Grace Cup matches for Kohukohu. Miss A. Mooney, of Kaitaia, visited her parents at Broadwood at the weekend. Mr C. Maxwell, of Kaitaia post office, was a week-end guest of the McGrath family. Mrs A. Cavaney and Ronald, of Auckland, are up to spend Christmas with Mrs J. Dodds, of Broadwood. Mr A. Dodds spent the week-end with his mother at Broadwood.
