WANTED BLOOD FOR PATERNITY TEST?
ALLEGATION AGAINST YOUNG WOMAN
[Per Press Association. — Copyright.! CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Armed with a skinning knife, a bottle of chloroform, and blood test tubes, woman, it is alleged, walked into the consulting rooms of Wallingford- Khan, Chinese herbalist, last night, and attempted to slash him. ,
This part of the story was told in the Magistrate’s Court this morning when. a young woman was charged with assaulting Khan.
Chief-Detective Dunlop told Mr Reid, S.M., that the young woman, whose name was suppressed in the meantime, had alleged that she intended to kill Khan. She alleged that Khan was the father of her child, and she wanted to get blood * from him to make a blood test.
“In view of the extraordinary nature of her allegations, I would suggest that she be remandd for a week in custody for medical observation,” *he said.
In remanding the woman in custody till October 31 for medical observation, the magistrate said it was desirable, under the circumstances, that her name should be suppressed.
