EX-SERVICEMEN’S ANNUAL BALL,

The ex-servicemen of Waipu held their annual ball in the Waipu Hall on Tuesday evening. The hall was beautifully decorated. The Grand March, headed by Pipers McGregor and McLean, and led by Mr H. E. Hewlett and Mrs' F. C. Middleton, was a very pleasing sight. Colonel Lang acted as M.C., and novelty-dances were won by Miss M. McKenzie and Mrs V. Russell and partners. At the request of the Waipu Oddfellows’ Lodge, the Whangarei Orphans Club brought a concert party, under the leadership of -Mr F. Argyle, to Waipu to raise funds for the Whangarei St. John Ambulance. A very bright and interesting programme was presented and much enjoyed by all present.
