Another stage has been reached in the demolition of Waterloo Bridge across the Thames, rendered necessary by subsidence of some of the piers supporting it. The work of demolishing the bridge was begun in June,
1934, and about 200 men have been | engaged on it. All the arches of the I bridge and the greater part of the j stonework have been removed, and j the task of demolishing each pier and ) clearing away the foundations *is to! be begun next. I
