FALL IN BUTTER

MARKET WEAKENS AUSTRALIAN SELLS FREELY. [Special to "Northern Advocate ”1 AUCKLAND, This Day. The New Zealand butter market has weakened in London, and Australian butter is selling freely at a better price. According to a cable received this morning from Messrs Allan and Findlay from London, the butter market is weaker, and New Zealand salted is selling from 120/- to 122/- (last year 63/- to 68/-); unsalted. 124/- (74/- to 76/-). Australian. 125/-; Danish, 139/-. The cheese market is quiet. New Zealand, white, 60/- to 61/- (48/- to 49/-); coloured, the same. Canadian market is unquoted. The New Zealand Producers’ Co-op. Marketing Association, Ltd., today received a cable from London dated October 18, reading as follows:—Butter slow; cheese quiet. Butter: New Zdaland, finest, 122/-; first, 120/-; Danish. 136/-. Cheese, white and coloured, 60/- to 61/-. Messrs W. W. Bowker (from A. J. Mills and Co., Ltd.), have received the following cable, dated London, October 17, as follows:—Butter: The market is slow. New Zealand finest. 125/- to 126/-; first, 123/- to 124/-. Danish, 134/-; f.0.b., 118/-. Australian, 125/- to 126/-. Cheese: The market is quiet. New Zealand white, 61/- to 61/6; col-1 cured, 60/- to 62/-.
