BOILED ALIVE
DESPERATE’S PRISONER’S SUICIDE DOMESTIC WORRY SEQUEL. (Received 10.30 a.m.) PARIS, January 20. Despondent because he learned that his wife had obtained a divorce, Regis Rondeau, a model prisoner in the Rion gaol, Puy-de-Done, became desperate when custody of his children was awarded to his wife instead of to his mother, as he had hoped, and ended his seven years’ sentence by plunging head first into a huge copper in which 40 gallons of skilly was boiling for the convicts’dinner.
