FEROCIOUS FRAY
AUSTRIANS AND BAVARIANS. TUMULT IN A CAFE. FORMIDABLE WEAPONS. (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, December 28. The Munich correspondent of the “News Chronicle” reports, that pieces of furniture, knives, ripped motor tyres and iron bars were used in a fierce, all-night fight in a cafe between Austrians and Bavarians at Badiabing. This is a little town 10 miles from the Austrian frontier, where 350 members of the disarmed Austrian Nazi Legion are encamped. The Austrians shouted; “Down with Hitler!” and the Bavarians: “Out with these parasites!” One Bavarian was killed and more than 20 were injured, nine of them dangerously. The fighting did not cease until a motor, detachment of Nazi guards arrived from Dachau. The Cafe was completely demolished.
