BITTER ATTACK
ON LEAGUE OF NATIONS
OUTBURST IN SAAR. ANTI-BRITISH FEELING. lUnited Press Association —By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright .] (Received 1.30 p.m.) SAARBRUCKEN, December 28. The final session of the Saar Parliament before the January plebiscite was marked by a bitter attack, on the League of Nations and a denial of its sovereignty by Herr Martin, leader of the German Front. He declared that the Saar Commission was serving foreign interests, rather than Saarlanders. He denied animosity against French troops, who were doing their duty, but he complained that the British were using the Saar as a “hospital building devoted to cultural purposes.” He demanded that the police be forbidden to carry whi&s and sticks, which were provocative, and denounced the decree prohibiting the display of flags.
He declared that Saarlanders were being tortured with humiliation, but they would “give their traitors their receipt when they voted on January 13.”
At the conclusion of this speech members of the German Front walkeod out amid jeers from their opponents.
A Communist deputy, violently attacked the German Front, alleging that it planned terrorism, including attacks on the - Commissioner, but he provided no proof to back up his allegations.
