TABLE TENNIS
WHANGAREI CLUB ACTIVITIES. AUCKLAND TOMORROW. ' In return for a match played in Whangarei several weeks ago,-the local representative table tennis players will travel to Auckland on Saturday, and will play a city team at night. Whangarei will be represented by the following:—Ladies: Miss M. Brigham, Mrs Baigent (Whangarei Club); Miss McAdam and Mrs Ormandy (Mangapai). Men; A. S. Hooper, M. Peat and M. M. Baigent (Whangarei);, C. MeAdam (Mangapai) and J. Davis (Whale a para). The side is not as strong as Whangarei is capable of sending, there being several prominent members who could not make the trip.
The Auckland side will bo more formidable than last time, and it is a matter for regret that Whangarei will not be at full strength. The local players will have plenty of practice during the next few weeks, as a representative side from Mangonui will probably visit the Whangarei Club on Saturday, August LS, and Te Kopuru are expected on Thursday night next. Both these sides should provide good opposition.
THE AUCKLAND TEAMS. (Special to "Northern Advocate.’’) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland teams to meet Whangarci tomorrow night at table tennis will comprise Messrs Storry (captain), Cheal, Munns and Swift, and Misses Wilkinson, Cochrane, Bond and Tanfield.
