SOCIAL EVENTS
PAR NORTHERN FUNCTIONS, A dance was held by the ladies of the Anglican Church in the Kaitaia Parish Hall on Tuesday night. The attendance was fair, and the dance passed off very satisfactorily. Mr T. Matthews was M.C. and the music was by Mrs Stitt, Mr A. Logan playing t an extra. The usual supper was served. Progressive 500. A progressive 500 evening in aid of the Catholic Church was held in Poster’s Rooms, Kaitaia, on Tuesday. There was a remarkably good attendance, and the evening was an undoubted success in every way. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs Pettitt, and the men’s by Mr Jcreovich. The consolation prizes fell to Miss K. Parker and Mr J. N. Berghan, An iced cake presented by Mrs J. X, Berghan, and offered as a prize in a competition was secured by Mr T. S. Pearson, The players were treated 'to a dainty supper.
