The major sections of the Addington market yesterday attracted steady competition, with a maintenance of late rates. A very largo entry of store sheep was drawn from many parts of the North and Smith Islands. Fat cattle wore slightly easier. Eat lambs. —An entry of 3000 sold keenly under the new schedule of up to 73d for 3Glbs sorts. Operating exporters paid up to that rate, and butchers paid to 8d per lb. Values were: Extra prime heavy lambs, to 28/1; prime heavy, 23/0 to 26/; mediumweight, 21/ to 23/6; light, 17/6 to 20/6. Fat Bhoop.—There was an entry of 5200. The market was firm at late rates, with a spurt over the last 1000, causing an advance of 1/0 a. head. Values wore:—Extra prime heavy .wethers, to 27/7; prime heavy, 23/ to 25/G; prime modiumweight, 21/ to 23/; ordinary, 10/ to 21/; light, 15/6 to 18/6; extra prime heavy owes, to 22/G; prime heavy, 20/6 to 21/6; prime modiumweight, 18/ to 20/; .ordinary, 15/ to 17/; light, 11/G to 14/6. Fat Cattle.—An entry of 560 head was slightly more than the market could absorb, aud there was a consequent easing up to .10/ a head. Best beof made from 21/ to 23/ per lOOlbs; good, 18/ to 20/6; heavyweight, .15/6 to 17/6; ordinary, .13/ to 16/; rough, down to 10/. Fat Pigs. A good entry met with a keen demand, except for' choppers, of which there was an over-supply. No pigs were bought for export. ' Values wore:—Choppers, .34/ to 86/; baconcrs, ■b)/ to 52/6; heavy, 57/6 to 72/6 (average price per lb, 43d to 51d); porkers, 31/ to 33/6; heavy, 34/6 to 1.1/6 (average price- per lb., 5d to 33(1). •Store Pigs.—The market was firm at late rates. Values were;—Weaners, 8/ to 12/; small to medium stores, 12/6 to 17/6; good, 18/ to 25/.
