HEAVY BROADWOOD YARDING. There was a vary heavy yarding of good class e a tile at the Broad woon sale, held yesterday by Messrs Dnlgety and Co., Ltd, Buyers were present from as far south as Whangaroi, and a total clearance was effected. Approximately a. thousand cattle comprising mostly good quality steers were offered, prices remaining on a par with recent rates. Fat cows made £2 -I/- to £2 (J/-; lighter, £1 10/- 1o £2. A nice even line of Shorthorn-Hereford steers on account of Mr A. Gregory made £t *>/-. These were well grown and of good colour. Other lines w-v-* almost up to the same standard and brought £d a/- to £:.! I (I/-. Two-year-old Hereford-,Shorthorn steers made £2 a/- to £2 12/-; smaller, f,7/d to £2; d-year old Holstein steers made £2 11/-; store cows, £1 10/- to Cl 12/d; boner cows, 2.1/-. Smaller lines ef sheep were offered, fat ewes making 12/-, and mixed age ewes, S/- to 12/-. Fifty three .‘O.-year-old steers on ’account of Mr H. Ilodgcrs brought i! I.
