If it was not it, some other gale certainly reached 113, and spoiled to a certain extent the band of hope meeting held in the half. Nevertheless a fair crowd gathered, and quite a successful function eventuated. The following programme was interspersed with community singing of several appropriate hymns, recitation, by Dawne Williams; recitation, Phyllis Milton; a temperance talk by Mrs Weir; recitation, Madge Banks; recitation, Dawne Williams; recitation, Mrs G. McKenzie; recitation, Madge Banks. The social hour was happily spent in games, and supper concluded a very jolly evening, 500 Tournaments. Five-hundred . continues to be played with enthusiasm at the tournaments organised for school benefits. The win

ners for the last two nights’ play were respectively Miss P. Milton and Air E. Banks and Mrs F. Lc Noel and Mr W. Shehan. The Weather. The storm appears to have blown itself out for a while, and beautiful sunshiny days arc following frosty nights. The warm days compensate for the cold nights.
