THE LOCAL RANGE. BUCKLEY TROPHY SEMI-FINALS. A shoot for the Buekley Trophy, a 'self-handicap event, was on the programme of the Whangarei Miniature Rifle Club last night. The semi-final stage was reached, with .1. H. Ashton leading and J. S. Garner close up. The evening’s prize was won by the club s armourer, Mr C. Baker, with 96~ 4. —100.

The Buekley Rooster B. grade ehangt I ed hands, J. W. Courtney, with" 92 off the rifle, beating Miss Primrose (the holder), who scored 90. In the A. grade, M, K. Stewart (97) beat S. Withers) (96), The monthly draw for the President’s Badges (a pairs shoot) was won by R. Hughes, 93 —6—99, coupled with M. K. ' WIN FOR WHANGAREI. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) ROTORUA, This Day. Whangarei won the miniature rific contest against Rotorua. The conditions were that the tenths were to be twenty a-side, the best 18 scores to count. After deleting the two lowest scores, the Whangarei team’s total was 1703, and Rotorua’s 1646.
