WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

Two men, Horace Henry Smith and Harry Newman, each aged 33, pleaded guilty today to stealing a wallet and money to the value of £2 from tor Wallace, and were sentenced by Mr E. Page, S.M., to three months’ imprisonment.

The story told in court was that they met the complainant, a stranger, and commenced to tell him about the treatment they received at a hotel. By way of demonstration they grabbed hold of Wallace's coat and put their arms across his body. Afterwards he found he had been robbed.
