POROTI RUGBYITES
TEAM SELECTED. (From a Correspondent.) A dance was held in the Pipiwai Hall on Friday last in aid of the Poroti Junior Rugby Club. There was a fair at: tendance, and the playing and singing of the musicians were excellent. After supper, Mr K, Patera thanked all patrons for their support and announced that the takings amounted to £2 IS/-, which should be of great use to the club. The dance was continued until 2.30 a.m.
On Saturday afternoon a practice match was held on Mr Robison’s held. Mr W. Thorpe gave the backs some very practical advice. Mr G. Owen, as selector, had a difficult task, but eventually chose the fob
