RACING APPEAL
UPHELD BY COMMITTEE. WHANGAREI DISQUALIFICATION, PRINCESS STAR CASE. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) AUCKLAND, This Day.
The Auckland District Racing Committee yesterday upheld the appeal by Wenzl Scholium, racehorse owner, W, Goscomb, trainer, and G. Grice, apprentice jockey, against the six months * disqualification by the judicial committee of the Whangarei Racing Club. The disqualifications arose out ol the running of Princess Star in the Portland Hack Handicap at Whangarei on April fi, and were imposed on the ground that the rule relating to a horse being run on its merits had been contravened.
In allowing the appeal, the District Committee ordered the deposit of fo each to lie returned to the appellants, Mr M. M. MeCallum presided, and
Messrs ■E. W. Alison, senior, M. M
Louisson, D. AlcLeod, T. Tmpey, aim W. Claud Motion, were also present. Messrs L. W. Nelson and K, .1. "Rennie ■were unable to sit, as they are also members of the Judicial Committee of the Whangarei Racing Club. Air Neison represented the Judicial Committed at the hearing. Air C. Comer, chief stipendiary steward, was unable to attend owing to illness.
