FLIGHT OVEJJ SOUTH POLE. GEOGRAPHICAL QUEST. . (Received 9 a.m.) NEW YORK,-September 13. Mr Lincoln Ellsworth arrived in New York from-Europe today.- • He announced that the plans for his projected flight across’ the Antarctic continent havb'-progressed so far that he expects to start in the autumn of 1933, accompanied by Mr Bert Balchen, air pilot. The explorers will take off from the Rbss ; Seav and fly ; 2,900 miles over the South Pole to the Weddell Sea. Mr Ellsworth said many geographers be lieve tfie Ross 'and Weddell Seas cut into tlie‘Continent, making two islands.
